FAQs

Are your interior design packages all-inclusive, or will I find random bills and charges beyond the package price?

Design packages will include everything outlined in the scope of work we’ll draw up together, including time sourcing home goods and materials, and time creating design plans and presentations. With a design package, you’ll never be charged more than the package price for the work described in the contract we’ll agree to together before we get started.

Can I choose a custom hourly interior design contract instead of one of the design packages?

Absolutely. I’m happy to work with each client on a case-by-case basis. If hourly is better for your budget, I’ll draw up a contract detailing what counts as a billable hour, and we’ll agree on a check-in every 5 or 10 hours (your choice). With each check-in notification, I’ll stop all work until I hear whether you want to proceed or wrap things up.

Billable hours for hourly design contracts may include:

  • time listening and learning about your needs and hopes for this project, what your style preferences are, and how your household functions on a daily basis, to ensure a good design fit for your lifestyle

  • time sourcing fabrics, furniture, and other design goods

  • time creating design plans, mock-ups, and presentation materials

  • time spent in meetings together, on-site visits, and home goods scouting together

  • drive time to other cities beyond Winston Salem to scout for home goods (if needed), or purchase materials will be billed at ½ the hourly rate.

Do you have references?

Yes! If you’d like to work hourly on a larger project, I will be more than happy to provide references.

What if I don’t like your suggestions and design ideas?

There are two types of interior designers:

ONE is like a hair stylist who knows exactly what they think you need and ignores everything you suggest.

THE OTHER is a stylist who looks at pictures of the hair you want, helps you see how your own locks will look with that cut or color, and only moves forward when you are ready.

No one wants the first hairstylist, or that kind of interior designer. My goal is to find the best interior design solutions for YOU. Every client is different, every home is different, and beauty arises in those differences.

Can I return a design package if I’m not ready to move forward?

Yes! If you buy a package and change your mind about fulfilling it before we get started, I will be happy to refund you the full amount.

If you buy a package, and we have a couple of hours of interior design work done already, and you want to stop the work, I’ll issue a partial refund for the hours remaining in the package.
